Job SummaryThe pharmacy team at Samaritan Health Services seeks a Traveling Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in medication preparation, labeling, and a broad range of technical support functions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The position is eligible for a $3.00 per hour float differential paid on hours worked. Travel will be between Samaritan Hospital Pharmacy sites in the mid‑Willamette Valley and the central Oregon Coast.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and label medications under the direction of a pharmacist.
- Assist pharmacists with technical support functions.
- Maintain accurate and organized medication records.
- Follow pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One of the following:
- Current, unencumbered Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.
- Currently enrolled first‑year Pharm
D student in good standing with an accredited pharmacy school and current, unencumbered Oregon Board of Pharmacy Intern license.
- Successful completion of a Medical Pharmacy Technician course is preferred.
- Knowledge of medications and related therapeutic considerations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with electronic equipment, computer hardware, and software applications.
- Customer service orientation and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to perform basic mathematics, time management, and clerical tasks.
- Occasional lifting of 0‑20 lbs, walking, squatting, kneeling, and manual dexterity tasks.
- Frequent lifting and standing tasks up to 54 inches.
- Continual walking (incline or level), stair climbing, and ability to rotate trunk while standing or sitting.
- Ability to push, pull, and carry items weighing up to 20 lbs.
