• Visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand Point of Sale (POS) system and handle various payment types (cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, etc.) per company policy.
• Adhere to cash control limits and report shortages or overages.
• Follow guidelines for restricted items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions, accidents or issues and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment, answering product questions across the store.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict fairly and cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Customer service experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).

• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.
