Lead HVAC Technician - JLL

What this job involves:

We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Service Technician to join our facilities management team. This role involves leading a team of technicians while performing complex HVAC maintenance, repairs, and installations across commercial properties. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership capabilities and exceptional problem-solving skills.

What your day to day will look like:

* Lead and mentor a team of HVAC service technicians, providing technical guidance and ensuring quality workmanship across all projects.

* Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, rooftop units, VAV systems, and building automation controls.

* Perform preventive maintenance inspections and develop comprehensive service schedules to minimize equipment downtime and extend system life cycles.

* Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot complex system failures using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.

* Coordinate with property managers, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution and tenant satisfaction.

* Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and equipment histories using computerized maintenance management systems.

* Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.

* Train junior technicians on best practices, safety protocols, and new technologies.

* Participate in equipment procurement decisions and provide technical specifications for system upgrades or replacements.

Required Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC experience with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.

* EPA Universal Certification, relevant state licensing as applicable.

* Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, and building automation systems.

* Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and computerized maintenance management software.

* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

* Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

* Completion of HVAC technical training program or apprenticeship or Associate degree in HVAC, mechanical engineering, or related field.

* Additional certifications in specific equipment brands or building automation systems.

* Experience with energy management systems and sustainability initiatives.

* OSHA safety training certification.
