Position Summary

We are recruiting one part‑time student support services liaison to assist in the daily operations of the Cultural Resource Centers (CRCs) and to lead the development of inclusive and equitable communities within Diversity & Cultural Engagement (DCE) across the Oregon State University campus.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in daily administrative and operational support including budget processes, purchase requests, task delegation, and co‑leading weekly student‑staff meetings.
  • Organize center projects such as event planning, implementation, and maintenance of the center library database.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to peer staff, leading program planning and supporting peer staff in initiating programs.
  • Represent the center in the campus community by serving on student advisory boards, participating in committee work, engaging stakeholders in conversations about student fee processes, and representing DCE at tabling functions.
  • Community & Belonging
    • Maintain a welcoming environment in DCE spaces by updating layouts, signage, and answering guest queries.
    • Support networking and relationship building among groups through facilitation, collaborations, and connections.
    • Support individuals’ connections to community with listening, resource referrals, and conflict resolution.
    • Model self‑reflection, learning, and professional growth to contribute to a culture of respect and accountability.
    • Assist in holistic support of student staff and team‑building efforts, including well‑being check‑ins and activity planning.
    • Lead programs addressing community well‑being, including Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Boldy Me Campaigns, and collaborations with survivor advocacy and counseling services.
    • Provide direct support to students in need, consulting with campus partners for resource connections.
  • Academic Success
    • Develop and maintain relationships with partnered academic support departments (EOP, CAMP, TRIO, Academic Success Center).
    • Identify academic needs of students, especially concerning discrimination in classrooms.
    • Create programs such as community writing groups, study sessions, and academic skills sessions to meet identified needs.
  • Identity Development
    • Reflect on identity development and model vulnerability with staff and community members.
    • Collaborate to foster identity exploration through trainings and program facilitation.
  • Social Justice
    • Participate in challenging conversations and facilitate discussions in center spaces.
    • Raise awareness on social justice issues through program development and campaign creation.
    • Empower community by elevating marginalized voices.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum cumulative OSU GPA of 2.0.
  • At least one year of active leadership experience on a college campus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal learning and transformational learning.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with groups represented by the CRCs (e.g., Asian Pacific Islander, African American, Hispanic, Native American, Women, Queer, Transgender, etc.).
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
  • Community leadership experience in the communities represented by the CRCs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social justice principles and systems of dominance.
  • Experience leading conversations about identity and social justice.
  • Experience in project management and/or event leadership.
  • Experience in networking and relationship building.
  • Time‑management skills and self‑awareness regarding identity impact in community.
Working Conditions

Part‑time – maximum 24 hours per week. Remote or hybrid options available. Minimum hourly rates as listed in Job Details.
