Safe Ride Driver Pool
This recruitment will be used to fill multiple part‑time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Safe Ride Driver positions for the Safe Ride Program at Oregon State University (OSU).

Security & Driver ScreeningThis position is designated as a critical or security‑sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard et seq. Incumbents are required to self‑report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years.
This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self‑report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OSU Standard 125‑155‑0200) as per OSU Standard et seq.
OSU will conduct a review of the National Sex Offender Public website prior to hire.

This position involves driving Safe Ride vehicles in accordance with the core values of the Safe Ride program, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, using the Safe Ride app, communicating with dispatchers, and coordinating ride requests with fellow staff. The incumbent will also uphold safety policies, maintain confidentiality, complete required training, and provide timely feedback to leadership.
Position Duties- Drive Safe Ride vehicles consistently with the Safe Ride program core values.
- Always follow state and local road laws while driving.
- Utilize the Safe Ride app and coordinate ride requests with Safe Ride staff.
- Use hand‑held radio to communicate with dispatchers regarding student ride details.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
- Communicate to riders and staff in a respectful and appropriate manner.
- Provide accurate and timely feedback to staff.
- Work with the Leadership Team to create a welcoming staff culture.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all Safe Ride policies.
- Identify and report employee or rider behavioral issues and safety concerns.
- Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality when handling student information.
- Complete all required training in a timely manner.
- Read and respond to all communications from the Leadership Team promptly.
Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.

- High School student:
Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home‑schooling program. - Undergraduate and post‑baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term.
