Job Purpose

As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. You are often the first point of contact for patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service that exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
  • Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, creating personalized moments, offering immunizations, and demonstrating compassionate care.
  • Complete basic inventory activities—such as accurately putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting‑bin inventories—as directed by pharmacy leadership.
  • Work with a growth mindset, seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge, and actively provide feedback.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to other stores.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards; safeguard patient privacy and security.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, off‑site clinic staffing) where allowed by law and supported by required training and certification.
Additional Responsibilities – Immunizations (if applicable)
  • Obtain Technician Immunizer status through required licensing and training.
  • Educate patients on vaccine importance and refer to pharmacist‑on‑duty for questions.
  • Monitor and respond to adverse reactions; report events as required.
  • Collect and document patient information; manage vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
  • State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age if no minimum age is required by state law.
  • Must have a high school diploma, equivalency, or be actively enrolled if no minimum education is required by state law.
Essential Functions
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to complete required training within a designated timeframe.
  • Attention & focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, ensure prescription accuracy.
  • Customer service & team orientation: look for ways to help, respond to patient reactions.
  • Communication skills: verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues; active listening.
  • Mathematical reasoning: solve dosing calculations and inventory counts.
  • Problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and select appropriate responses.
  • Physical demands: mobile, lift up to 20 lbs, repetitive finger work, precise machine adjustments.
  • Additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1‑3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market for business needs.
