Emergency Services Registered Nurse

Overview

Our Emergency Department at Coshocton Regional Medical Center—a 56‑bed, not‑for‑profit hospital serving East Central Ohio—seeks a full‑time night shift RN. The Registered Nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Responsibilities include:

• Direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Directing and guiding patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicating with physicians regarding changes in patient condition, including diagnostic study results and symptomatology.
• Responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment.
• Maintaining knowledge of EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and the Hospital Social Worker.
• Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Providing direct care within the ED while maintaining standards of professional nursing care.

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintained.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintained.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintained.
• EDAP certified facilities:
  Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
• Non‑OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintained.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.
