Position Overview
Orange Coast College is seeking a full-time, equity‑minded, tenure‑track faculty member in Ethnic Studies with a background and specialization in Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies, commencing with the Fall 2026 semester. The primary teaching assignment involves all four core areas of Ethnic Studies plus a specialization in Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies and Comparative Ethnic Studies. This assignment also includes curriculum and program development;
participation in department, division, and college committees; participatory governance activities assuming leadership roles both within the department and in the institution as a whole; collaboration across disciplines; the leveraging of student support resources; participation in ongoing professional development; and maintaining and performing required accreditation for the program.
The assignment may be day, evening, weekend, online, hybrid, or off‑campus and is subject to change as needed.
