Position: Senior Production Automation Engineer (Machine Vision)

ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril’s Core Automation team is seeking a Sr/Staff Machine Vision Engineer to join our team. The Core Automation team is responsible for the design, integration, and deployment of automated manufacturing systems across Anduril factories. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to help define what production automation looks like for Anduril at a national scale.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop and implement machine visions systems for automation systems, quality inspection, defect detection, and process monitoring
  • Specify, procure, validate, and sustain vision system components such as cameras, lenses, lighting, controllers, and software
  • Oversee the installation, validation, and commissioning of vision systems in production environments across multiple product lines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate high-precision inspection systems into production lines and automation systems
  • Lead efforts into RCCA on vision systems and process failures
  • Train production staff on the operation and maintenance of vision systems

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar
  • 4+ years of experience in developing and maintaining vision systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience developing vision system platforms (e.g., Cognex, Keyence, Gocator, iRVision, Halcon) and programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, OpenCV)
  • Strong understanding of image processing algorithms, optics, and lighting principles
  • Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems (e.g., PLCs, robotics)
  • Familiarity with advanced defect detection techniques, AI-based vision systems, and SPC methodologies
  • Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

US Salary Range

$142,000—$205,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
