Camera Lens Repair Technician I
Location:
Canon Factory Service Center, Costa Mesa, CA. The role involves on-site or in-house repair of imaging products including mirrorless cameras, digital SLR cameras, lenses, flashes, binoculars, power shots, EF and RF lenses, Speedlite flashes, etc.
Must be able to lift 15 lb. or more in equipment.

Work Schedule:
40‑hour work week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. Full‑time presence at your assigned worksite or territory is required.
- Perform in‑house servicing and repair of company products, including general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of DSLR cameras, lenses, and flash systems.
- Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures using established procedures.
- Prepare reports analyzing product failure trends and service‑ability issues.
- Execute routine assignments with attention to detail, applying judgment based on established procedures and guidelines.
- Service and repair designated equipment to Canon standards and specifications to provide efficient and responsive client service.
- Generate service revenue by repairing designated equipment.
- Maintain all technical information and Canon property assigned.
- Prepare reports and other data for the department to ensure accurate information and record‑keeping.
- Communicate with supervisor and other departments regarding solutions to technical and/or customer‑service related problem areas.
- Perform high‑volume repair to support departmental goals of turnaround time.
- Conduct product rework, modifications, and new product inspection.
- HS diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required, plus less than one year of related experience.
- Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of electromechanical equipment.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 15 lbs in camera, lens, or case weight.
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Six months of repair experience with camera or optical products or electronic field.
- Mechanical aptitude and use of electrical meter and hand tools for repairs.
- Six months of inspecting, testing, grading, repairing, or refurbishing electro‑mechanical equipment; working knowledge of computer platforms, general application software, and networking environments.
- Access to technical websites (e‑support platform).
- Work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Positive internal and external work attitude.
- Good customer‑service skills and abilities.
Hourly Pay: $17.20 – $25.49.
