ABOUT

THE JOB

We are looking for a PCB Layout Engineer (Air Vehicles) to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, configuration, and release of complex PCB assemblies, ensuring they meet modern design standards and are ready for manufacturing. You will use Altium Designer to execute PCB layout and component library management, ensuring designs conform to best practices, components achieve compliance specifications, and that assemblies meet Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) guidelines.

This role could also have the opportunity to grow into supporting schematic reviews and minor circuit design modifications. If you are someone who thrives supporting rapid avionics development, then this role is for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Collaborate with design engineers to create high‑reliability PCB layouts and technical drawings, ensuring manufacturability and performance across Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) projects.
  • Develop high‑speed digital, precision analog, RF, and high‑power circuit assemblies by applying modern PCB design methodologies, ensuring optimal signal integrity, thermal management, and EMI mitigation.
  • Manage PCB design documentation, revisions, and release processes using PLM tools, maintaining compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate component libraries and documentation databases by working closely with the Core Product Team to uphold fabrication, assembly, and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) guidelines, ensuring design consistency and quality.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and manufacturing engineers to ensure PCB designs meet environmental, structural, and assembly constraints for airborne and mission‑critical platforms.
  • Implement design modifications and refinements to maintain consistency with company‑wide PCB design best practices, addressing project‑specific needs as they arise.
  • Support minor schematic updates or modifications as needed, with a primary focus on PCB layout execution and design process efficiency.
  • Ensure PCB designs align with mission‑critical system requirements while operating in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years of professional experience in PCB Layout or Design
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PCB layout techniques meeting mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing specifications
  • Proficient in using Altium Designer for PCB CAD tasks
  • Proficiency in reading and applying schematic designs appropriately for each project.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks…
