We are seeking an experienced Drafting Engineer to plan and oversee a wide variety of construction projects from beginning to end. The ideal applicant will be highly organized, with the ability to plan ahead and multitask to meet deadlines and keep projects under budget.
Responsibilities- Prepare reports regarding job status
- Resolve any problems that may arise
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
- Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects, and key team members of the project team
- Obtain the appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites
- Plan construction operations
- Ensure all deadlines are met Delegate responsibilities
- Allocate and manage resources to ensure availability during projects
- Keep all stakeholders aware of progress and prepare progress reports regularly
- Handle environmental or local community issues that may arise
- Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards
- PMP or an equivalent certification is an asset
- Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or similar Engineering Degree is required
- Previous work experience in construction management or a similar role
- Understanding of construction management processes
- Familiar with construction and project management software programs
- Excellent time management ability
- Able to multitask with a strong understanding of core manager duties
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities, including negotiation skills
- AutoCAD and/or Bluebeam skills required
- Ability to create, markup, edit, and produce building plans
- Knowledge of electrical diagrams (single lines, conduits, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of California Building Code
- Experience with ADA parking requirements, sloping, path of travel
- Basic understanding of trenching, running conduits, and concrete padding
- Ability to design as-built site plans
- Experience coordinating with utility companies
- Full management of permit applications, submittals, follow-up, and inspections
- Capability to qualify, hire, and manage contractors for required trades
- Budgeting and managing construction jobs end-to-end
- Effective communication with vendors, partners, and providers
