Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Pacific Imaging - FT - Day

UCI Health is the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, and the only academic health system based in Orange County. As a part of UCI Health, Pacific Imaging provides high‑quality imaging services across the region. The Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist will work primarily in our state‑of‑the‑art CT scan and PET/CT facilities, supporting patient care and research initiatives.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, the incumbent will perform the full range of in‑vivo and in‑vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and related chemical substances. Responsibilities include quality patient care, timely throughput, equipment quality control, PET/CT imaging and reformatting, injection of CT contrast media, scanner qualification for research trials, and protocol programming. The position also involves training, monitoring, and maintaining compliance within the department.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT.
  • Working on‑call and rotational shifts as needed.
  • Proficient computer skills.
    • Current and active CRT, CTNM, ARRT®, ARRT(N) or NMTCB credentials (or equivalent).
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of state regulatory radiation safety practices and ALARA principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to train and monitor staff, maintain a work pace appropriate to workload, and establish effective working relationships across the Health System.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Scientific/Clinical Research experience.
    • SPECT/CT experience.
    • Multilingual skills for patient communication.
    • Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
    • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
