Medical Billing Insurance Verification Specialist

Medical Billing Insurance Verification Specialist needed on a long term temporary basis. Must be able to work in office in Newport Beach, CA. The hours for this role is 7:30 am‑4:00 pm Monday‑Friday.

Summary of Essential Job Functions is for a Multi‑Specialty surgery center in Newport Beach. The role will support a variety of different specialties such as general surgery, podiatry, urology, etc. The Billing part of the position does not require the candidate to be coding certified, as an outside company completes the coding. They accept a variety of different insurances and would complete verification through portals as well as over the phone.

The position requires working closely with the materials manager to ensure cases/procedures are properly vetted.

Duties
  • Manage billing for multiple payors
  • Accurate and timely payment posting of insurance and patient payments
  • rebilling claims
  • follow up on patient balances
  • Keeps Daily Deposit Log up to date
  • Communicates any payor issues to collections department
  • Answers incoming calls regarding patient payments
  • Works closely with other departments and groups to resolve issues and exceed client service expectations.
  • Verifies insurance in a timely manner for all necessary cases.
  • Responsible for accurate billing data entry.
  • EOB

Education and Experience
  • Experience working in a Medical office
  • Working with Medical Insurance
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
