Purpose of the Position

This role ensures that all benefits plans, including health, dental, vision, disability, and retirement plans, are competitive, cost-effective, and compliant with legal requirements. The Benefits Analyst will work closely with other departments to support the overall well-being of the employees by communicating and educating employees so they understand the value of the benefits being offered.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and evaluate all benefit programs to ensure they are operating effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Facilitate the administration of company benefits programs.
  • Manage, track and monitor Leave of Absences.
  • Develop and execute wellness initiatives and strategy.
  • Provide comprehensive support to employees regarding benefits plans, claims and eligibility inquiries.
  • Develop and deliver benefit-related communication materials, including handbooks, brochures, paper and online resources.
  • Conduct frequent educations sessions and surveys to assess and address the importance of the benefits being offered.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely processing of Benefit data in the HRIS system.
  • Utilize Zen Desk software to efficiently process tickets, addressing employee inquiries, technical issues, and escalation requests in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for all reporting and compliance with all benefits related matters, such as ACA, 5500 and discrimination testing, including 401(k).
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding employee benefits to ensure benefits policy is compliant with the set laws and regulations.
  • Manage open enrollment process.
  • Perform audits of benefits-related data.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of experience, Associate with 7 years of experience.
  • Five or more years' experience in HR and/or benefits administration.
  • Thorough understanding of all areas of information systems with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HRIS product - a full implementation is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with human resource policies and procedures.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and/or related software.
  • Ability to work independently, within prescribed guidelines, or as a team member.
  • Performs job under general supervision and work with specialized or technical positions requiring specialist training, experience or knowledge.
