Work alongside talented engineers in Costa Mesa to ship quality-focused features that delight users at every scale. Here's the long and short of it — Chevron pays $111,000 - $161,000, trusts your 3 years, and lets you own the technology call.

• Investigate, diagnose, and fix bugs reported by users and monitoring tools
• Identify bottlenecks and propose architectural improvements proactively
• Read the Load Balancing stack traces others skim past, and trace bugs to their root
• Decide when to buy Kubernetes versus build it for Chevron's Costa Mesa, CA stack
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents across Service Mesh-based applications
• Own the flat-and-fast Terraform Associate subsystem that the rest of Chevron quietly depends on

• Storytelling instincts that turn data into a decision
• Written communication clear enough to survive a forwarded email chain
• Willingness to commute to Costa Mesa, CA or work flexibly as needed
• Mid-level-caliber judgment about when to escape and when to absorb
• Comfort being accountable for a self-directed outcome in a full-time role
• A point of view on Chevron's space, sharpened by your own reading
• Confident communicator across email, calls, and in-person meetings
