Dev Manufacturing Team is part of the Mechanical Engineering organization specializing in Prototype Fabrication, Machining (CNC & Manual), Composites, and Additive Manufacturing.

We are looking for a Dev Fabrication Senior Supervisor to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, Ca. In this role you will be responsible for leading the prototype fabrication team, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and managing project timelines and resources.

• Define criteria for Jira ticket prioritization - due date, shop resources (including personnel), material procurement, impact to product progress, etc.
• Examine files and drawings prior to delegating a ticket - material call outs, weld symbols, tolerances, and specifications, potential build issues, etc.
• Delegate Jira tasks and monitor progress - maintain schedule according to due dates
• Balance the workload, especially for high priority projects
• Engage in design reviews and coordinate with engineers and project leads - understand the entire scope
• Maintain quality and accuracy on all parts/projects - monitor the team’s approach to tasks
• Enforce safety policies and procedures
• Proactively engage EHS when uncertain about a "safe" work environment, and identify potential hazards
• Participate in interviews for new hires and establish an orientation process once they are onboarded
• Monitor usage / procure shop resources - welding gases, abrasives, consumables, etc.
• Oversee manual machining ops for the mill and lathe in the fab area
• Participate in determining needed shop improvements and new equipment purchases
• Keep shop organized, clean, and safe

• Ability to work through tasks with limited oversight
• 10+ years of procurement in a fast-paced job shop environment
• 10+ years of operations experience in a fast past job fab/ machine shop environment
• High level of metal fabrication, welding (GMAW/FCAW/GTAW) and machining skills (mill/ lathe) and experience
• High level of raw material knowledge (composites, metals, plastics, etc.)
• Strong computer skills
• Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to read drawings and blueprints
• High level of mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability
• Ability to multi‑task and balance intra‑departmental projects from conception to execution with little to no supervision
• S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export‑controlled data
• Jira and Confluence experience

$113,000 – $149,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
