Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 2342)

Join Game Stop as an Assistant Store Manager and help create unforgettable experiences for gamers worldwide. The role involves minimal supervision, supporting the Store Manager in all facets of store operations, and developing a sales culture that focuses on guest service and gaming passion.

• Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions quickly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform about promotions, and apply selling behaviors at every transaction.
• Support the total shopping environment, including visual merchandising, operational elements, and sales initiatives.
• Process guest purchases and returns accurately with the POS system.
• Respond to guest comments via phone or in person; escale issues to the Store Manager when necessary.
• Promote Game Stop’s guest benefit programs.
• Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates.
• Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance.
• Record performance feedback in Workday/HR systems.
• Oversee onboarding, job and compliance training for associates before shifts.
• Schedule associates, supervise staffing levels, and maintain optimal guest service.
• Approve payroll, manage time‑off, and verify associate compensation.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper functioning of all store areas.
• Fulfill and ship Omni‑Channel orders daily.
• Manage inventory control and loss‑prevention practices; inspect associates’ packages and report concerns.
• Support sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete admin and operational duties.
• Perform inventory counts, stock merchandise on shelves, and keep items alphabetized.
• Reconcile daily business transaction totals and complete bank deposit paperwork.
• Verify shipments for discrepancies and report to management.
• Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately.
• Maintain safety awareness and report injuries promptly.
• Maintain store records/files neatly and keep manuals updated.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders.
• Adhere to all Game Stop policies, procedures, and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
• Follow opening and closing procedures.

• Provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the U.S.
• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
• At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of video games preferred.

• Outgoing, welcoming personality and strong people skills.
• Provide genuine assistance to every guest.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Achieve objectives in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Meet associate performance expectations (attendance, appearance, safety, respectful workplace).
• Operate POS computer system.
• Basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills.
• Complete required paperwork properly.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Execute financial tasks per company policy.
• Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays (minimum 3 days/week).
• Manage pressure and stay creative problem‑solver.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and exercise good judgment.
• Work alone for extended periods; stand, move, and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Onboard understanding of military ranks for applicable locations.

Pay: $19.65 - $23.65 per hour.
