Sales Associate

The Sales Associate role based in Costa Mesa, CA. The Sales Associate will provide an excellent in-store experience by greeting customers, understanding their needs, and guiding them through product selections that reflect BAPE®’s brand identity. Responsibilities include maintaining visual merchandising standards, restocking and organizing inventory, and ensuring the sales floor and fitting rooms are clean and presentable. The role also involves processing transactions accurately, handling returns and exchanges, and using point-of-sale systems in compliance with company policies.

In addition, the Sales Associate will support store promotions, learn product features and brand history, and collaborate closely with team members and store management to meet sales targets and uphold BAPE®’s customer service standards.

• Experience in retail or customer-facing roles, with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Sales and merchandising abilities, including product presentation, upselling, and familiarity with basic sales targets or KPIs.
• Operational skills such as cash handling, POS system usage, and attention to detail in inventory management.
• Interest in streetwear fashion and familiarity with global fashion trends, especially Japanese street culture and the BAPE® brand.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
• Strong reliability, time management, and ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks (e.g., lifting, stocking).
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak retail periods.
• High school diploma or equivalent; previous experience in fashion retail is preferred but not required.
