Job DescriptionRenewal by Andersen is seeking an accomplished, driven, and collaborative New Product Development Design Engineer II for the Research, Development and Innovation team. In this role you will be an integral member of the New Product Development team, responsible for developing new products and services via Stage‑Gate product development processes. You may serve as Design Lead for small‑to‑medium‑scale new product development projects.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Design, plan, collect, analyze, and report on experimental studies and new product concepts.
- Apply engineering rigor to product designs ensuring performance expectations are met and customers are delighted.
- Show independent creativity and initiative for business and organizational contributions.
- Drive discussions and decisions on overall project objectives with managers and functional leaders.
- Plan, coordinate, and lead activities on technically challenging assignments.
- Develop multiple concepts addressing customer needs.
- Evaluate and recommend engineering and design solutions.
- Create and present reports summarizing technical analysis and business viability to varied audiences.
- Maintain primary technical communication responsibility, lead tactical discussions, and effectively communicate with external customers and staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Experience as a design engineer on a cross‑functional engineering team.
- Strong aptitude for process improvement, problem solving, technical execution, and project management.
- Experience delivering products from ideation through commercialization using a gated design review process.
- 4–10 years of engineering or technical experience.
- Experienced knowledge of lean, manufacturing, design, and quality systems.
- Demonstrated ability with dimensional engineering and tolerance/variation analysis.
- Experience as a design or project lead on a cross‑functional engineering team.
- Experience with Autodesk, FEA, MS Office, BAAN, and MES.
