Manufacturing Engineer II – Renewal by Andersen

Location:

Cottage Grove, MN

Purpose: Provide engineering support to a manufacturing line at our Renewal by Andersen location in Cottage Grove, MN. Primary focus on monitoring, controlling, and improving existing manufacturing processes to meet customer and business needs.

Job Description: This position requires innovative thinking and a passion for operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Utilize lean process design techniques to optimize overall manufacturing system performance.
  • Plan, organize, and lead technical aspects of large-scale assignments to successful conclusion.
  • Create training tools, documents, and standard operating procedures for production processes to ensure consistent manufacturability.
  • Provide recommendations regarding viability of design solutions for new or current processes.
  • Facilitate cross-functional team meetings, kaizens, and Process System Design events.
  • Drive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem solving.
  • Partner with Safety group to ensure all new or modified processes meet or exceed corporate safety requirements.
  • Assess ergonomic conditions and provide solutions to eliminate ergonomic risk.
  • Persuade and sell continuous improvement ideas to value stream management and delivery partners.
  • Stay informed on industry technology developments and explore their use in Andersen products.
  • Provide operational technical support for existing applications and processes.
  • Ensure built-in quality using DMAIC tools such as Process mapping, capability, C&E matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, and Control Plans.
Qualifications and Skills
  • BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience preferred with mechanical aptitude.
  • Understanding and application of project planning methodologies and experience working with collaborative cross-functional teams.
  • Strong aptitude in problem solving using analytical tools and making process improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening, presentation).
  • Knowledge of quality systems, statistical process control, process capability, and lean manufacturing tools.
  • Ability to apply acquired knowledge to a variety of assignments of moderate technical difficulty.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining relationships.
  • Experience with change management strategies.
  • Knowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred (AutoCAD/Inventor).
Pay Range

$88,235.00 – $
