Job DescriptionJoin a team that innovates, develops and executes product design initiatives within RD&I On-Going Product Development at Renewal by Andersen. You will be integral in creating industry‑leading, high‑performing durable product solutions. You will be involved in every aspect of the product design life cycle, from business development to product end of life. The role requires mechanical engineering knowledge and best practices to develop and improve products that meet or exceed customer expectations for function, performance, and durability.
The individual will work in a highly collaborative cross‑functional environment.
- Coordinate and lead activities on technical projects and assignments.
- Collaborate with operations, external suppliers, manufacturing, quality, service, packaging engineering, and materials engineering.
- Develop and present reports summarizing technical analysis to peer groups and managers.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customers and staff.
- Analyze and recommend engineering or design solutions for product, process, design, or other technical challenges.
- Lead cross‑functional teams with broader, less‑defined objectives and scopes.
- Utilize mechanical design analysis tools and develop test plans to resolve problems quickly.
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 2 to 5 years of related mechanical design experience.
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling packages.
- Ability to design experiments, analyze results, and draw conclusions.
- Strong people skills and ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Quick learner with high level of ambition and drive.
Nice-to-have Qualifications
- Experience as design or project lead of a cross‑functional engineering team.
- 2D and 3D CAD experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or equivalent software.
- Experience working through a gated design review process.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, drawing, and quality standards.
- Experience with dimensional engineering and tolerance/variation analysis.
- Experience designing and developing new parts using injection molding, extrusion, machining, or die cast processes.
- Effective technical presentation and communication skills.
