Job Description

Position Summary

This Senior HR Coordinator is supporting our Cottage Grove plant with an impact of over 1,800 employees. You will provide team leadership to other HR coordinators and administrative staff to support the human resources function and business with the execution of HR processes, systems, and programs. This role has team leader responsibilities in the following areas: HRIS, staffing, records retention, employee relations facilitation, and payroll troubleshooting and interface.

Coordinates and plans employee & special events. Performs staffing duties for production positions, including attending job fairs, ad placement, application screening, interviewing and selection, and orientation.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and coordinate any functions pertaining to employment, compensation, labor negotiations, and employee relations.
  • Play an active role in formulating methods to improve employment policies, processes, and practices as well as recommending changes to management.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and reporting in addition to daily tasks and lead small but cross-functional continuous improvement projects.
  • Provide backup receptionist coverage for the Plant or department.
  • Run reports, update KPI files, and input data.
  • Order and maintain needed inventory of supplies (office, first aid, etc.).
  • Attend, participate, create, and administer meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate annual employee training (CPR, AED, BBP, First Aid, RTK, etc.).
  • Coordinate plant or department events.
  • HRIS/Record Retention: entry of new employees into the HRIS system and query generation.
  • Maintenance and filing of personnel files in compliance with records retention policy and applicable legal requirements.
  • Troubleshoot associate issues relating to payroll, timekeeping and benefits.
  • Merit increases and performance reviews coordination, tracking, and filing.
  • Timekeeping for the plant and its various departments or functions.
  • Provide training and direction for other system users.
  • Visible and accessible to all associates, providing policy clarification, answering routine HR-related inquiries and referring complex matters to management and/or HR Generalist.
  • Direct or lead the coordination of various associate meetings, including scheduling, invitations, room arrangements, lunches, maintaining attendance records, coordination of special events, maintenance of bulletin boards, community partnership events and activities, compiling information for appropriate communication vehicles, may handle basic employee relations issues.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources or similar discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a progressive HR support role.
  • Experience with the staffing process (screening, interviewing, etc.).
  • Highly motivated with the ability to proactively provide support.
  • Capable of independently managing multiple tasks/projects in a professional, efficient manner.
  • Excellent customer service & follow-through skills.
  • Outstanding desktop computer skills (MS Office applications).
  • Experience with HRIS.
  • Strong at sorting and organizing information to develop informative, clear communication vehicles.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and strict confidentiality standards.
