Overview

Industrial Maintenance Technician – Multi-craft Electrical at 3M in Cottage Grove, MN. This is a full-time role.

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, modify, calibrate, and adjust electrical, electronic, and pneumatic process control systems and devices used in production, laboratory, office and utility areas. Calibrate and adjust heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and climate control systems used in production, laboratory, office, and utility areas.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Respond to shop work orders in a safe and efficient manner.
• Implement and improve preventive maintenance procedures.
• Determine parts, tools, and supplies necessary for the jobs.
• Document work activities in the CMMS.
• Willingness to learn and expand technical skills.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two-year associate's degree in the electrical maintenance field, or graduate from an approved apprenticeship program.
• Five years of experience in electrical maintenance/troubleshooting of industrial processing equipment.
• Must possess a current and valid driver’s license and pass Motor Vehicle Record check.

• Experience troubleshooting processing equipment and resolving issues by implementing repairs.
• Experience in field instrumentation including process sensors and control devices.
• Experience in Programmable Logic Controllers, AC & DC drive controls, and pneumatic, analog and digital electronics, including computer/microprocessor-based control systems.
• Current State of Minnesota Journeyman Electrician's License or Master Electrician's License.
• Ability to read and interpret measurement instruments to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability and desire to work as a multi-skilled electrical craftsman.

The starting rate of pay for this position is $47.13 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate and may vary based on factors such as knowledge, training, skills, location, and experience.
