Clamp Truck Operator

North Star Sheets, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, currently has opportunities available for Clamp Truck Driver in Cottage Grove, MN.

The Clamp Truck Operator is responsible to make sure that all units are banded properly and have a clear visible load tag on them when being loaded and that there are no broken or missing straps on the units. This position Stages units in the warehouse and loads/unload trailers in a safe and efficient manner. This position will be responsible to perform a visual quality inspection on items and ensure that units and truck counts are accurate on the trailer/ carrier and also that all paperwork is accurate.

This position performs our last visual quality inspection of all items loaded & unloaded.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

• Follow all safety and company policies, reporting any issues, accidents or incidents immediately; must complete online safety training each month as assigned.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required, and attendance must be exemplary at all times. Must be able to work flexible hours and/or extended hours.
• Read the Wet End run schedule and lay down the correct rolls for the coming paper grades.
• Drive and handle rolls in a safe manner consistent with company rules and training.
• If rolls are damaged, assist operators in peeling and prepping rolls. Do not put damaged rolls back into roll stock.
• Ensure butt rolls are properly prepped for return to the roll room.
• Clean and reorganize warehouse as needed to ensure a clean and safe work area and the proper rotation of stock
• Must be able to read the wet end run schedule.
• At times the Corrugator Clamp operator my required to unload a truck or railcar. When performing this function all paperwork and applicable processes must be followed. Refer to appropriate processes as needed.
