Backcountry is looking for a skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team. The Senior Financial Analyst will have ownership over various areas of the business and will be responsible for analyzing financial data and providing insights to support decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will develop and track key performance indicators, identify trends and patterns that impact the company's overall financial health.
The Senior Financial Analyst will have exposure to all levels of the organization and must have strong communication skills.
This position will report into the Vice President FP&A.
What you get to do:- Analyze financial data and create financial models to support decision-making processes
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts and budgets for your assigned business areas
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics
- Identify trends and patterns in financial data and make recommendations for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop business strategies and plans
- Participate in the development of financial policies, procedures, and best practices
- Champion an AI-first approach to FP&A; identify steps in core processes where AI can improve speed/quality, and implement solutions ranging from Custom
GPTs to automated workflows - Model and maintain the company’s 13‑week cash flow forecast
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, and modeling preferably in the retail or e‑commerce industry
- Advanced Excel skills required; experience with financial analysis software preferred
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Hands‑on experience applying AI and workflow‑automation tools to streamline Finance processes and eliminate manual work
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Understanding of how business decisions flow through each of the financial statements
- Experience in treasury/cash management is a plus
