Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

Breeze Airways is hiring a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to help design, build, automate, and operate security platforms at scale across AWS environments onsite in Cottonwood Heights, UT
. This role focuses on engineering security capabilities that improve reliability, availability, and performance
, while strengthening detection, response, and cloud security foundations.

• Cloud security capabilities across AWS environments, including integrations and platform ownership
• Scalable security controls delivered through Infrastructure as Code and automation
• Vulnerability management workflows that support remediation tracking and reliable execution
• Security telemetry pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and detection capabilities
• Orchestration and automation that improves operational efficiency and incident response

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud security capabilities across AWS environments
• Own and optimize key cybersecurity platforms and integrations
• Build scalable security controls using Infrastructure as Code and automation
• Develop reliable processes for vulnerability management and remediation tracking
• Identify repetitive security tasks and automate them
• Create workflows, integrations, and orchestration to improve operational efficiency
• Develop tooling that enables security to scale without proportional headcount growth
• Improve the reliability, availability, and performance of security infrastructure
• Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and detection capabilities
• Build security telemetry pipelines and observability solutions
• Improve incident response processes through automation and engineering
• Conduct investigations and support cybersecurity incident response activities
• Partner with infrastructure, development, and application teams to secure cloud-native workloads
• Review architectural designs and implement security best practices
• Strengthen identity, access management, and privileged access controls
• Help establish security standards for emerging technologies and platforms
• Serve as a technical leader within the cybersecurity organization
• Mentor junior engineers and help elevate engineering maturity across the team
• Work closely with platform, infrastructure, compliance, and software engineering teams
• Translate security requirements into practical engineering solutions

• 6+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, SRE, Platform Engineering, Dev Ops, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related field
• Strong hands-on experience securing AWS environments
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (
  Terraform preferred
  )
• Strong Linux administration skills
• Proficiency in Python
  , Power Shell
  , Go
  , or other automation-focused languages
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and logging platforms
• Experience managing incidents in production environments
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS
  , load balancing, firewalls,
  TLS
  , VPNs
  , and cloud networking
• Experience working in highly available, mission-critical environments
• Authorization to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

• Experience with Kubernetes and container security
• Familiarity with cloud security platforms
• Experience with SOAR
  , SIEM
  , and security automation platforms
• Experience securing CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes
• Experience with advanced persistent threats, phishing and social engineering, network access controllers (NAC), gateway anti-malware, and enhanced authentication
• Familiarity with PCI-DSS or other regulated environments
• Experience supporting cloud-native applications and modern development practices
• CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, GCIH, GCIA, CISM, or similar certifications
