AQUATICS HEAD GUARD

PAY RANGE/

WORKING CONDITIONS:

$16.50 - $18.15/hr DOE;

• Current American Red Cross First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard Training Certification
• Current SAI Certification preferred
• Must pass Center prepared Swim Test
• Able to demonstrate an adequate understanding and competence in all red cross lifesaving procedures
• Knowledge of emergency action plans
• Knowledge of facility functions, policies, and procedures
• Minimum of 12 months lifeguarding experience preferred
• Excellent organizational, communication skills
• Must be at least 16 years old
• Excellent public relations skills and supervisory abilities

Responsible for the overall supervision of all Aquatic related operations in the Recreation Center during daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Ensures that established Center policies and procedures and applicable laws are followed. Ensures that patrons are professionally and safely served and that all questions and problems are promptly and courteously resolved.

• Ensures that Aquatics operations are conducted in accordance with established Center policies and applicable legal requirements.
• Conduct walk through of restrooms every hour to assist visual maintenance and security.
• Take chemical checks of pool at the top of every hour.
• Respond to Center emergencies. Coordinate with Administration, Management or Manager on Duty to contact police or paramedics. Use CPR and First aid training as needed.
• Assist patrons with Swim Lessons for their children in locating classes, teachers, etc.
• Determine lifeguard rotation for current shift.
• Assist lifeguards with cleaning duties and closing procedures of pool area.
• Inform Aquatic Administration of any employee disciplinary actions, patron complaints, and/or overall state of affairs.
• Assist Administration, Management, Coordinators and Manager on Duty as needed.
