Store Manager – Manager Trainee
Join Tractor Supply Company to develop as a Store Manager. Primary duties: delivering legendary customer experience, building a team, driving sales, managing inventory, controlling profit, reducing shrink.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit, hire, develop, evaluate, discipline, retain efficient team members.
- Deliver legendary customer service through GURA: greet customers, uncover needs, recommend solutions, add value.
- Create welcoming environment fostering diversity, equity, inclusion.
- Schedule, organize, plan daily activities for efficient store operations.
- Lead team to provide legendary shopping experience.
- Communicate company processes, evaluate effectiveness, coordinate with District and Regional Manager.
- Teach sales and profit management; accountable for top‑line and bottom‑line.
- Promote safe and productive work environment; manage daily merchandise flow and inventory controls.
- Participate in special projects and community involvement.
- Support HR in team member relations and advancement.
- Minimum 18 years of age; valid driver’s license.
- High school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred (agricultural science or business).
- Retail experience strong; supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in farming, ranching, pet/equine, welding knowledge preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required if driving for company business.
- POS and inventory system knowledge.
- Accurate reading, writing, and counting documentation.
- Operate equipment such as dolly, hand‑truck, forklift, computer, and cash register.
- Work varied hours; minimum 52 hours per week; stand and walk long periods up to four hours.
- Travel to other store locations and company functions.
- Normal office conditions.
- Standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, reaching overhead, driving a vehicle, lift up to 50 pounds.
