The Dental Assistant is a member of the dental team whose primary responsibilities are to prepare patients for a visit, check-in and check-out patients and schedule appointments and reappointments.

This is a full-time (40-hour) position.

Hours:

Clinic hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM- 7:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM, and Saturdays from 8:00 AM- 12:00 PM. Schedule for this position will be discussed during interview.

Pay Range: $18-21/hour, based on experience and education level.

• Prepares, cleans, and sets up operatories for patient appointments
  • Takes and mounts dental radiographs (x-rays)
  • Prepares sterile instruments and equipment
• Prepares patients for their appointment and discharge as well
  • Asks about patient's medical history
  • Takes blood pressure and pulse
• Performs dental assistant duties per provider workflow and practice
• Provides and assists with patient discharge
  • Provides patients with instruction for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedure
  • Registers patients for appointment, if necessary
  • Assists with documentation for accurate billing and charting

• Active Dental Assisting Certificate in the state of Iowa preferred
• Iowa Radiology Certification, or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire
• Sterilization Certification a plus
• Previous training and experience in dental assisting preferred.
