Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Registered Nurses (RNs) will monitor, record, and report changes in the conditions of the patients and be involved in every aspect of patients’ health. Precision and accuracy in maintaining detailed reports is important for relaying information to doctors and patients. The RN will prepare, assist, and instruct patients for examinations and treatment, and inform family members on health‑care education topics.
Responsibilities- Document all lab, procedures, and appointments on tracking forms and follow up on missed appointments and procedures.
- Assist Health Coaches by working patient lists and scheduling appointments as directed.
- Provide patient and family education to ensure adequate knowledge/awareness and recommend appropriate community resources as needed.
- Educate/instruct patients according to provider direction 98% of the time.
- Perform telephone triage to determine patient needs, register and report patient condition to provider, and advise patient based on provider instructions.
- Receive and return patient calls within 90 minutes based on medical priority 95% of the time.
- Accurately record and report patient’s condition according to department policy 98% of the time.
- Maintain work areas to ensure healthy environmental conditions by cleaning and organizing equipment and rooms.
- Handle prescription renewals/inquiries to facilitate patient care, discuss questions with provider, and relay information to pharmacy.
- Prepare exam rooms and equipment to facilitate treatment and examination of patients per provider protocol.
- Assist providers with retrieving tests, medical records, and obtaining lab work as directed.
- Dispense medications at the direction of a provider and instruct patients and families on medication use.
- Perform phlebotomy with proper labeling and handling of specimens, complete requisitions, and collect specimens per standard procedures.
- Ensure accuracy of order entry and complete appropriate documentation with at least 98% accuracy.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- No prior experience required unless specialty is listed.
- For South Family Practice:
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience and bilingual ability.
- Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) License, valid compact multistate license, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure.
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred; required within 3 months of hire.
- Preferred:
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Knowledge of basic medical conditions, diseases, and illnesses.
- Proficient time management and prioritization.
- Typing proficiency for capturing patient information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide caring patient care services and facilitate effective communication between patients, families, and providers.
- Medium work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force. - Occasionally performed (climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting).
- Frequently performed (balancing, carrying, crouching, pulling/pushing, repetitive motions, stooping, twisting).
- Constantly performed (grasping, hearing, reaching, seeing, speaking, standing, walking).
- Not related:
Electrical shock/static, radiation non‑ionizing. - Rare (1%-33%):
Radiation alpha, beta and gamma. - Occasionally (34%-66%):
Equipment/machinery/tools, explosives, physical hazards such as noise, temperature, lighting, wet floors, outdoors, sharps. - Frequent (67%-100%):
Biological agents, chemical agents, mechanical moving parts/vibrations.
