Rec Reps are responsible for promoting and delivering Marshall Wellness Center programs at Iowa Western. Within an assigned residence hall, they assist residents with signing up for teams, understanding registration processes and timelines, and sharing program information. The programs promote physical activity and social engagement and may include activities such as intramural sports, wellness workshops, fitness programs, recreational outings, and other events.
Rec Reps help housing students engage with campus events and help Wellness Center staff understand the recreational and fitness needs of the housing unit.
- Help students be aware of and connect to Wellness Center programs and services.
- Collaborate with Wellness Center and housing staff to plan and execute programs within assigned residence halls.
- Assist residents in organizing teams for intramural and recreational activities.
- Direct all marketing of Wellness Center materials within assigned hall.
- Communicate effectively with supervisor and residents.
- Commit to a team‑oriented and collaborative work environment.
- Current enrolled student.
- Normal office duties.
- Light work (lift up to 10 lbs.).
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods and use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment.
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Reading, writing, calculating.
- Social interaction skills.
- Reasoning and analysis.
- Works with minimal supervision.
