Join us as a Mortgage Field Services Inspector at FAR INSPECTIONS and perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.

Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over nine years.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. Independent contractors are sent out to verify property occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.

• Complete inspections within 4 days after assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in the app.
• Be able to spend extended periods of time driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

• Computer with an internet connection
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will be paying for your own gas)
• Smart (Android or iPhone)
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, the equivalent hourly rate ranges from $30 to $40. Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you will complete anywhere from
20 to 500 inspections per month working 2 to 30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties have higher rates; higher‑volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month. Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or are willing to cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
