Journeyman Electrician

Overview

As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for installation, maintenance and repair projects of electrical systems and components specifically focused on the Telecommunications, Wireless, Utility and UPS markets.

Reporting Relationship: The Journeyman Electrician will report to the Service Manager.

• Perform skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for building & grounds
• Perform the installation of transformers, control boards, electronic circuits, circuit breakers, switches, fuses, and related electrical equipment
• Perform installations of backup generator systems
• Determine modifications required when obstructions are met while installing electrical systems
• Read electrical blueprints, plans, and schematics
• Develops strong line of communication with Electrical Manager/Master Electrician and within all departments utilizing electrical service
• Ability to work from wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, blueprints, and/or verbal instructions
• Proficient in the use of standard electrician's tools and measuring/testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter
• Perform other duties and assignments as necessary

• Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code and commercial/industrial electrical best practices, switch gear & control, and UPS industries
• Strong knowledge of generators, transfer switches, and distribution equipment
• Knowledge of electrical principles, applications, techniques, procedures, code, and equipment
• Knowledge of local and national electrical code
• Demonstrates proper use of material handling equipment
• Proactively stays up to date on safety training, compliance, and knowledge of HAZ MAT and DOT requirements
• Adheres to company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook and Safety Policy

Up to 75% depending on customer needs

• Licensed or the ability to be licensed in: IA, MN, ND, SD, WI, NE
• Ability to work at various heights
• Ability to lift items greater than 25lbs (and up to 150 lbs.) repetitively on a regular basis
• Ability to maintain a valid driver's license
• Must pass a physical exam, background check and pre-employment drug screening
