OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE
• Can understand plans
• Operate and maintain all striping equipment
• Understand pavement markings, painting, taping, and grinding
DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Installation of pavement markings utilizing the latest equipment.
• Operator will be responsible for a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers.
• Operator will be responsible for the operation, minor maintenance, and overall appearance of the trucks.
• Follow directions of Supervisor as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job site.
• Perform daily pre and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Properly document hours of service.
• General laborer duties associated with asphalt paving, patching or prep crews.
• Required ability to shovel, rake, and handle other small tools.
• Equipment cleanup as needed.
• May be called upon to run small power tools.
• Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
• Assist in the placement, moving, and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic control devices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.
• Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Pass a pre-employment DOT physical.
• Be able to work overtime when required.
• Must have strong work ethic
• Ability to work in a team setting
• Report to work at the designated start time.
• Communication skills;
Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
• Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas.
• Strong attention to detail
• Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Previous related experience in the construction field and/or training.
