Job Description & How to Apply Below
Electro-Mechanical Automation Technician

This role is a hands-on working technician who keeps Forza's equipment and systems running safely and reliably, including the mechanical, electrical, PLC and automation systems. You'll do maintenance and controls work yourself while building the preventive maintenance (PM) systems, standards and structure the department runs on. You'll solve problems in-house before calling outside vendors. As Forza automates more of its operations, you'll be the facility's go-to expert for electrical and controls troubleshooting and for equipment commissioning.

Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical and electrical/controls troubleshooting, including PLCs, sensors and control circuits
  • Able to read schematics, P&IDs, ladder logic and wiring diagrams
  • Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley/Siemens PLCs, VFDs and equipment commissioning
  • Working knowledge of LOTO, NEC and equipment installation
  • Makes sound decisions independently and under pressure, and is resourceful and cost-conscious
Responsibilities
  • Preventive Maintenance:
Build and manage the PM schedule and records for all equipment. Perform PM tasks, and stock and track critical wear parts.
  • Electrical & Controls:
Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment, motors, drives, relays and sensors. Make minor changes to PLC logic and I/O. Do wiring, conduit, panel and power distribution work. Help plan automation projects.
  • Repairs:
Lead mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and respond quickly to keep downtime low. Source parts, log repairs, support root-cause analysis and do as many repairs in-house as possible.
  • Safety:
Create and maintain LOTO procedures and equipment labeling. Make sure all work meets NEC, OSHA and internal requirements.
  • Installation & Commissioning:
Lead new equipment installs from delivery through startup, covering layout, utilities, wiring, controls setup, testing and documentation. Work directly with vendors and contractors.
  • Production Support & Leadership:
Prepare equipment for production runs and changeovers. Work with Operations on priorities and downtime planning, and attend daily production and monthly safety meetings. Serve as the primary maintenance contact and help shape the department's structure and its path toward more automation.
