Ski​/Snowboard Instructor

Job Summary

Pottawattamie County Conservation is seeking passionate and skilled Ski and Snowboard instructors to join our team for the upcoming winter season. This position will run from December through March, or for the duration of the ski season.

• Instructs groups and/or individuals in lesson format.
• Teaches proper technique appropriate to the ability level of those being instructed.
• Promotes safety and gives students the knowledge to remain safe when they leave the lesson to ski/snowboard on their own.
• Participates in clinics and free‑skiing/snowboarding to constantly improve personal skiing skills.
• Attends PSIA or AASI clinics and takes appropriate exams on an ongoing basis.
• Greet guests and direct guests to the proper lesson location.
• Is helpful, friendly, courteous and professional, providing superior customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to ski or snowboard safely and confidently in all conditions and terrain types.
• Ability to work during peak times and in bad weather.

• Must be eighteen (18) years old at the time of hire.
• Must complete ski/snowboard instructor training upon hire.

• Prior ski/snowboard instructor experience.
• PSIA or AASI certification is preferred.
• Reliability, punctuality, and own transportation.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

$20 - $25/hour

Seasonal, December through March.
