On the north central region of Vancouver Island, the City of Courtenay, along with the neighboring communities of the Town of Comox and Village of Cumberland, comprises one of the fastest growing areas on the island – the Comox Valley, located on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation. Courtenay is the valley’s largest urban centre, where you’ll find urban amenities wrapped in small town charm and character.
Comox is the seaside community with a high walkability score and quick access to some of the Island’s best beaches. Cumberland honors its coal mining past while celebrating the latest music scenes, family festivals and extensive mountain biking trails.
The Comox Valley is home to Mount Washington, Vancouver Island’s largest ski resort, and serves as the gateway to both Strathcona Provincial Park and the Desolation Sound group of islands. The recreational options are endless and well complemented by thriving arts and culture communities and a wide array of boutiques, restaurants and fine dining.
