Position: Indigenous Support Worker at School District 71
Join School District 71 as an Indigenous Support Worker dedicated to elementary students, working 27.95 hours weekly. This temporary position enhances educational support for Indigenous learners.

Candidates should have at least a Grade 12 education and relevant post-secondary credits in Indigenous studies or a Human Services Worker certification. You will be responsible for creating culturally safe environments and supporting students academically and personally. Building fruitful relationships with families and engaging community resources will be critical.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored educational support for Indigenous students

• Promote cultural awareness through school activities

• Liaise with educational staff and community members

• Track student progress and provide necessary resources

• Assist in monitoring budget for Indigenous student funds

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 education with Indigenous studies

• Three years of relevant experience in Indigenous contexts

• Cultural knowledge of local Indigenous practices

• Class 5 B.C. driver’s license required

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
