Temporary Learning Support Teacher K-9

Support the learning journey of students as a Temporary Learning Support Teacher at School District 71. This role is dedicated to fostering inclusivity and providing tailored instructional strategies.

As a 1.0 FTE teacher, you will engage with K-9 students facing learning disabilities and behavioral challenges. Your expertise will be vital in assessing student needs, collaborating with teachers for effective learning plans, and providing direct teaching that aligns with individual goals. You will contribute to a supportive educational environment that embraces diversity and builds positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support to diverse learners

• Administer assessments to gauge educational needs

• Collaborate with teachers on I.E.P.s and learning plans

• Modify curricula to fit student requirements

• Train and manage educational assistants for effective support

Requirements:

• Degree in Special Education with relevant experience

• Ability to apply early literacy teaching methods

• Experience using Kurzweil software in education

• Successful elementary teaching experience

• Capacity for collaborative problem-solving
