Position: K-9 Support Teacher at School District 71
Become a K-9 Learning Support Teacher (0.80 FTE) at School District 71, dedicated to supporting students with various learning challenges. Focus on inclusion and academic success through tailored instruction.

As a Learning Support Teacher, you will facilitate a positive educational experience by collaborating with classroom teachers and educational professionals. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing students’ needs, creating and monitoring I.E.P.s, and providing targeted instruction for those with learning and behavioral challenges. You'll also play a key role in adapting curriculum and guiding educational assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and assess student needs for support

• Develop and monitor Individual Education Plans (I.E.P.s)

• Offer direct instructional support and remedial tutoring

• Work with teams to implement effective teaching strategies

• Prepare modified curriculum to benefit diverse learners

Requirements:

• Special Education degree preferred

• Experience with educational software like Kurzweil

• Skills in behavior support and case management

• Knowledge of K-9 curriculum and teaching practices

• Ability to collaborate with various school staff members
