Teach ABG 100:
Histories and Impacts of Colonization at North Island College, focusing on Indigenous Values in a supportive learning environment. Engage with Nuu-chah-nulth communities and students as they prepare for teaching careers.

North Island College seeks a qualified instructor for the Pathways to Nuu-chah-nulth Teacher Training Program. This role emphasizes teaching Indigenous topics, historical contexts, and cultural values. Ideal candidates will hold a Master’s degree and three years of experience working with Indigenous communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design learning materials catering to diverse learners

• Direct positive student learning in classroom settings

• Evaluate student performance and maintain achievement records

• Advise on enrollment management and department needs

• Participate actively in College committees and professional development

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in a related field

• Three years experience with Indigenous communities

• Strong understanding of cultural safety and respectful practices

• Ability to integrate Indigenous lived experiences into teaching

• Preference for instructors with Indigenous ancestry
