On-Call Library Technician Position

Become an integral part of School District 71 as an On-Call Library Technician. This position supports the library's daily operations across elementary and secondary schools, ensuring resources are accessible and organized.

The On-Call Library Technician will temporarily fill in for absent library staff, handling essential tasks such as checking books in and out, shelving, cataloguing, and supervising library facilities. Candidates should possess a Grade 12 education and a library technician diploma or equivalent coursework in related fields. Proficiency in computer systems and familiarity with children's literature are also highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Check books in and out to students and staff

• Shelve and organize library resources efficiently

• Supervise library facilities in the absence of full-time staff

• Assist the Teacher Librarian in collection management

• Maintain the inventory of lost or damaged resources

Requirements:

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

• Completed formal library program diploma

• Current school or public library experience

• Strong English communication skills

• Ability to work effectively in a team
