Temporary Education Assistant Position

School District 71 is seeking a Temporary Education Assistant to provide targeted support for diverse learners in secondary education. This part-time role spans 28.75 hours each week, from Monday to Friday.

In this position, you'll work with K-12 students, focusing on behavioral management and individual learning plans. Your responsibilities involve aiding teachers and supervising students in varied learning environments. This role requires enthusiasm for empowering students with diverse abilities and a commitment to fostering their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in daily instructional activities and personal care routines

• Provide behavior and emotional support to students as needed

• Implement Individual Education Plans collaboratively with teachers

• Facilitate inclusion for all students within classroom activities

• Engage in training and development for effective support

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education with relevant Human Services Worker certification

• Experience working with students with diverse abilities

• Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention and CPR-AED

• Knowledge of communication systems for special needs

• Class 5 B.C. driver's license is preferred
