Grades K-7 Library Specialist Position

Elevate student engagement as a Grades K-7 Teacher Librarian with School District 71 at Airport Elementary. This role invites creativity and collaboration in a diverse educational setting.

The position is part-time (0.50 FTE) and temporary until December 18, 2026. Candidates should hold a Master’s Degree or related qualification in Library Science and showcase expertise in digital citizenship and critical thinking. The role emphasizes fostering literacy skills and supporting teachers with resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop opportunities for experiential learning and literacy

• Assist teachers in resolving minor tech challenges

• Coordinate the acquisition of library resources

• Maintain organization of print and digital learning materials

• Cultivate engaging programming such as Coding and Author sessions

Requirements:

• Relevant Master’s Degree or Teacher Librarian Certificate

• Proven teaching experience and broad curricular knowledge

• Excellent collaborative and communication skills

• Preferred French language skills for immersive settings

• Ability to provide leadership and training to library staff
