Position

Custodian - PM
37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Pay rate: $28.09 per hour.

• Grade 12 education preferred, supplemented by completion of a Building Service Worker Certificate.
• Current custodial experience.
• Working knowledge of the operation of fire and intruder alarm systems.
• Ability to work with minimum direction.
• Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students, and the public.
• Physical requirements:
  
  lift objects up to 50 lbs, carry up to 30 lbs, push/pull up to 80 lbs, stand/walk and sustain repeated twisting, bending, stooping and squatting posture, and grip up to 95% of the day.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Performed under the supervision of the Manager Custodial/Delivery Services or designate, and in cooperation with school Principal or Vice Principal.
• Dust, mop, wash, vacuum, polish, brush, disinfect, and/or scrub all surfaces of furniture, equipment, floors, walls, glass, and other surfaces.
• Clean and maintain washrooms, shower rooms, and other restroom facilities.
• Maintain waxed or synthetic floor coverings.
• Cleans light fixtures, replaces bulbs and tubes as required.
• Cleans windows, both inside and out.
• Operate necessary hand and power tools required in effective performance of duties.
• Collect and dispose of waste as required.
• Report to Senior Custodian any signs of failure in buildings, fixtures, and furnishings.
• Move furniture as required.
• Follow proper work procedures, observe all regulations pertinent to the work, maintain a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperate in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Locations will be assigned by the Maintenance department and are subject to change.
