Salary: $32.00 hourly; 35 hours per week.
Terms of employment:
Permanent employment, Full time.
Educational qualification:
College, CEGEP or other non‑university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
Industry areas:
Family and community services;
Social work, other;
Social sciences, other;
Substance abuse/addiction counselling;
Mental and social health services and allied professions, other;
Vocational rehabilitation counselling/counsellor.
Experience:
1 year to less than 2 years.
Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Work setting:
Social service or charity agency.
- Assess need for assistance, such as rehabilitation, financial aid or further training
- Interview clients to obtain employment history, educational background and career goals
- Refer clients to the appropriate external services
- Identify barriers to employment and assist clients with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés and preparing for job interviews
- Collect labour market information for clients regarding job openings, entry and skill requirements and other occupational information
- Liaise with community agencies or partners, and identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals
