Position Type: Part-Time (19.5 hours per week)

Schedule: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays | 6.5 hours per day | 8:30AM-3PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and nurturing Classroom Supervisor to join our elementary school team. In this role, you will provide short-term classroom coverage for Kindergarten through 2nd-grade classrooms while our dedicated classroom teachers attend scheduled internal meetings, planning sessions, or student conferences.

This position is ideal for individuals who love working with young children, thrive in an active school environment, and want a consistent, part-time schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Classroom Supervision & Safety: Supervise young students in K-2 classrooms during short coverage blocks throughout the school day, ensuring a safe, supportive, and well-managed environment at all times.
• Instructional Support: Facilitate and carry out short-term activities, read-alouds, or learning plans provided by the classroom teacher.
• Student Engagement: Maintain positive student engagement using warm, encouraging, and age-appropriate classroom management techniques.
• Transitions & Routine: Help students maintain daily classroom routines, stay focused on assigned tasks, and safely transition between activities or learning centers.
• Collaboration: Communicate effectively with teachers and administrative staff regarding classroom activity or student needs during coverage periods.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (A college degree is not required).
• Experience: Experience working or volunteering with young children (ages 5–8) in a school, childcare, camp, or community setting is strongly preferred.
• Clearances: Must pass required state and district background checks / child safety clearances prior to employment.
• Student Safety & Well-being: A sharp focus on maintaining a safe, supervised, and positive atmosphere for young learners.
• Classroom Engagement: Ability to actively connect with K-2 students, keep their attention, and foster an encouraging learning space.
• Ability to Follow Plans: Strong organization and readability skills to seamlessly carry out instructions and plans left by classroom teachers.
• Reliability & Flexibility: Punctual, adaptable, and comfortable moving between different K-2 classrooms throughout the school day.

Work Schedule & Compensation

• Daily rate: $115 a day
• This position is not eligible for benefits.
