About the Program: Grant House is a community-based group home that provides 24‑hour staffing and a built‑in therapeutic component for 6 boys aged 13 to 18, who have experienced trauma and loss and who have serious emotional and behavioral problems. Most of the boys referred to Grant House have been in hospitals or other residential treatment facilities before coming to CHR.

The home allows the boys to live in a more normal, home‑like setting within the community while providing the structure, services and treatment they need to be safe, to heal and to grow.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates competency in age‑related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served.
  • Develops and provides group therapy and psycho‑educational groups designed to aid clients in understanding and maintaining their medications and side effects and to improve skills in living a healthy lifestyle.
  • Provides crisis assessment and intervention to monitor status of clients in crisis.
  • Provides home or outreach visits when appropriate.

  • Maintains first aid supplies, disposes of hazardous waste, destroys medications and manages the medication administration program as applicable according to agency policy.
  • Monitors the Medication Administration Program, medications, and physician’s orders.
Qualifications

Education:бололл Graduate of a School of Nursing and RN Licensure.

Experience: Experience with mental health population. Experience working in a managed care environment.

Licensure / Certification / Registration: RN license to haem practice in the state of CT. CPR / First Aid Certification within 6 months of hire.

Compensation: $63,634 minimum, with commensurate adjustments for experience. Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, internal equity policy, and potential location differential; part‑time positions will be prorated based on hours worked.
