About the role:
As Industrial Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the performance, safety, and compliance of our sterilization site internal processes. You’ll lead process improvement initiatives and manage lean systems—This role offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally to enhance process improvements and promote a culture of continuous improvement. This role follows an On‑Site work model requiring employees to be in our local office in Coventry, RI at least four days per week.
Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position currently.
- Identify and implement value improvement projects (VIPs) and waste elimination projects that drive to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality
- Apply and support the deployment of lean tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, mistake proofing, line balancing, CI programs) to improve operational efficiency
- Work collaboratively across production, engineering, facilities, and quality teams to promote sustainable process improvements
- Perform changes to work instructions mainly for improvements in the process using Windchill
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives to support value improvement programs, waste elimination, and lean initiatives in alignment with business objectives, and source items as needed
- Collaborate cross‑functional to drive best practices in process improvement
- Provide support to the layout changes in the site, making sure that efficient workflows are met and engaging different stakeholders
- Own the execution of gap assessments related to the best practices established by BSC Essentials (books of knowledge that establish global standards)
- Develop and maintain functional curricula, training matrices for production flexibility, TRS, and training effectiveness tracking. All this only for OPS department
- Manage the Training Record System (TRS) and ensure accurate, compliant training documentation for sterilization personnel
- Organize and coordinate training activities; provide onboarding and orientation for new hires in topics related to lean essentials
- Lead or co‑facilitate lean training programs for employees at all levels
- Foster a learning culture that promotes technical excellence, safety, and continuous improvement
- Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all documented quality processes and procedures
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of 1‑2 years' experience in a regulated manufacturing, sterilization, or process engineering environment
- Experience with lean tools as 5S, SW, Continuous improvement systems, value stream maps and statistical analysis
- Knowledge in Excel, Power BI, Tableau and CAD
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial/process engineering, science, or related field
- Excellent documentation, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Experience with Ethylene Oxide (EtO) sterilization
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools and continuous improvement methodologies
- Prior experience managing training systems or instructional content
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional projects in a regulated environment

Maximum Salary: $115,900
The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see — will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
